Charingworth Fiddle

Charingworth Fiddle

The fiddle pattern is one of the oldest shapes in cutlery, named for the waisted handle that flares at the end, and it still reads as traditional in a way modern patterns cannot fake.

Charingworth Fiddle in Vintage Satin takes that shape and finishes it without a mirror polish, so the cutlery has a softer, aged look that suits heritage pubs, country hotels, wedding venues and restaurants working a classic setting rather than a contemporary one.

Eight pieces cover the table. The 240mm table knife and 210mm table fork set the main course, with the 212mm dessert knife, 188mm dessert fork and 188mm dessert spoon handling entree and dessert. The 210mm table spoon works for service and shared dishes, and the 132mm teaspoon and 116mm coffee spoon complete tea and coffee service.

The satin finish has a practical advantage as well as an aesthetic one. It does not show water marks and light scratching the way a polished finish does, which means the cutlery keeps looking consistent through months of commercial washing rather than slowly going patchy.

Every piece comes in a box of twelve, so a venue can set covers in even numbers and replace individual piece types as they go missing.
