ID Fine Modest Maroon

ID Fine Modest Maroon

Modest Maroon keeps a white porcelain plate clean and lets a single hand-painted maroon rim do the work. The line is thin and slightly irregular, because it is painted by hand, and it frames food the way a border frames a picture.

That restraint is why it suits so many menus. The maroon reads as warm and classic against pasta, curries and roasts, and it pairs as easily with timber tables as it does with white linen.

The collection is built on two plate shapes. Coupe plates, with no raised edge, come in 170mm, 190mm, 230mm, 270mm and 300mm for everything from bread and side plates to mains. Walled plates, with a raised edge that holds sauce and keeps food contained, come in 165mm, 210mm, 255mm and 280mm, and suit saucy dishes, risotto and room service where plates travel.

Bowls round it out: a 140mm bowl at 460ml, a 170mm bowl at 700ml and a 210mm share bowl at 1,170ml for pasta and family style serves.

The body is porcelain, and the listings show a five year edge chip warranty on each piece, which gives some certainty on replacement costs.

Smaller plates and bowls are packed in twelves and the larger pieces in sixes.

Pick your plate shapes above, or see the other ID Fine ranges.
